My first show role as a Year 13 at BRIT was co-lighting designer for That 90s Show.
In this capacity I worked with the other lighting designer, George Winning, to create a rig using many different fixtures from MAC 700s to Mini-Bs. I drafted the lighting plan in WYSIWYG in preparation for the rigging. We agreed on using two large truss sections that extended right over the stage, which presented us with rigging and cabling challenges that we overcame to create the show we wanted. The rig was split over two lighting consoles, with an ETC Gio taking the brunt of the work while an MA2 command wing was used for key light. George and I each designed, programmed and ran the cues for half of the songs, with the person not operating a song running the key light from the command wing.
